Did we get a job? Hell no... What were you thinking?
This is one of the last posts I plan to write here. I thought the day when I would have internet 24/7 in Italy and organize this blog doing all the translate im too lazy to do with 15 minutes connections would eventually come.
It wont.
Everyone I met when we were planning to come here thought it would be a very bad time to come to Italy cause of the world crisis blah blah blah. Life here still goes on. If you walk around you see people needing someone to do a job. Bars or Caffes needing more waiters, designers, engineers, drivers... There is always a place for a qualified professional.
Why didnt we get a job? Just a few people told us about another issue wich I now know its the hardest part. Leaving a life and a family behind is the real problem.
Maybe its easier when you go marry someone that already lives in this different country but when someone needs to start it from scratch like my wife... She dreamt this place would be the magic kingdom, many people alerted us of this kind of behavior wich isnt uncommon to someone that plans to live far away. She gave the signs and I denied them... She even said to some italians that the life in Brazil was unbearable when we just got here.
I guess this was a side effect from her disappointment with the theft we suffered some years ago when the italy idea started. She was trying to run to a place she wold feel safe, she forgot ALL the rest involved in an important step like this.
Took 2 months to break the enchant of Italy but not even five months were enough for her to admit she doesnt want to live here even sabotaging our staying here every step.
For anyone going to another country or trying to live in a different place I must say this: know yourself and the bonds that make you who you are, no one can fight his own nature.
Some people can live farther from their birth place, some cannot.
This is her second failed attempt, I shouldve known better.

Yea, my wife went to venice today. She will meet her mother there and do a bit of tourism. Me? Well...
I went to this post office (check previous post) today. I had everything they needed but 30 euros. I had to pay something for all this trouble PLUS 30 euros for the envelope going to pavia. I spent one hour going from my house to there and I had to go back to get this extra money. The person was very patient and said she would wait I get the money if I could do it before midday.
9:30am... Did I say its snowing? Yea, it is and I must be careful so I dont fall. 1 hour to go and 1 to come back. I can do it. Just in case, im gonna go faster.
It took me about 40 minutes to go and 40 to come back. Good thing I can run fast but now I need to rest my legs.
When I finally get back there, there was a poweroutage. First Ive seen in Italy. It was a problem underground (the cables here go underground). No estimated time to fix.
The person couldnt schedule the date I should go to the police, that apart everything is ok. Hopefully I can schedule it untill tomorrow for its an important part of this whole process (I know, however, that the scheduled date wont be anytime soon).
Now Im back home and after 2 days of walking and walking Im really hungry, tired and my legs hurt a bit so Im walking funny.

When I was back to Brazil, the very few times I left home were to look for a temp job (unfortunately I didnt succeed) or to get my Visa. Since my wife had an address here in Italy, I could ask at the Italy Embassy to stay here with her, thats my visa. I couldnt ask this before cause it required that she was living here.
I was already very well informed about how I should proceed once I got back here: go to the police at tuesday morning with the visa and many other documents, they would then look for a day I would have to go there again and in the end of the process I would get my permission to stay/work/study/etc.
My plane arrived on wednesday and so I had to wait almost a week to do this. Important to say that once we get in italy we need to do such things in less than 8 days.
I tried to haste things a it going there on friday but i just got the same old answer (check the dates outside on the panel).
Finally tuesday! I went there just to discover things have changed and the police here doesnt do this anymore!
I had to go to the post office to get the forms, then I went to the city hall to fill them (they filled the forms on the computer and gave me other forms filled) and then I had to go to a specific post office where these things are sent to Pavia (the city that vigevano is politically part of).
After all this trouble, we decided to eat before going to this last post office. It was already past midday and we had walked around almost all the city since 7:30am.
When we finally got there, we found out that they only open in the morning. We wouldnt have time to go there anyway.

First of all, sorry to all I couldnt visit when I was back in Brazil. The time I need to spend in Italy to stand a chance of staying is very long and every penny is important. When I get a job and come to Brazil on vacation, I promise I will try to visit everyone.
Back to the land of Ice Cream, really, we still havent eat a pizza here and the pasta is great but we really LOVED the Ice Cream here. When I was back in Brazil, I couldnt eat ice cream there anymore. Its worth to eat ice cream in italy even when its snowing.
